Ntai Khojane.

Ntai has more than 17 years’ working experience spanning the retail, telecommunications, sales, communications and media industries. He has assumed roles as Senior Strategic Account Manager at Vodacom Service Provider Company responsible for strategic network infrastructure solutions for strategic clients; proposing product solutions to clients; preparation of proposals to meet client requirements. Ntai’s client portfolio included Eskom, First Rand Group, and Transnet.

In this role, Ntai’s notable achievements included, amongst others, ensuring the uptake of the Blackberry solution by strategic clients; first major sale and implementation of Converged solution in the Public Sector; and closing a sale of wholesale bandwidth solution with one of the bigger client companies. In executing his responsibilities, Ntai also played a strategic; leadership and project management role in order to ensure that solutions provided were according to client requirements and also met organisational goals.


He has also assumed a role as Public Sector Group Account Executive at Gijima AST responsible for the development of account strategies and account plans; preparation of proposal documents to meet client requirements; acting as mentor to other senior staff; and he manged a Team of Seven Sales Executive from various Business Unit. Ntai, using his previous experience, led the implementation of SASSA (a Government Social Security Agency) Infrastructure rollout in 5 provinces of South Africa.

Ntai’s quest for career advancement; superior managerial role; and to gain further exposure and experience led him to join MTN Service Provider in April of 2011 as Head of Public Sector Sales within the MTN Enterprise Business Unit.  In this role, he was responsible for development of business plans to support the organisational goals and objectives; developing public sector sales strategy; ensuring profitable discounted deals with public sector; maintaining good relationships with Government Stakeholders; overseeing a Team of 36 staff members within the Public Sector Direct Sales business line. Ntai’s achievements in this role, included, amongst others; achieving  net connections of  114%; year-on-year increase of 21% in Revenues; and securing contracts with a combined value of R680 million.



Works

Following a successful 4 years as Head of Public Sector at MTN, Ntai pursued his ambitions of building South Africa’s first major e-commerce store catering exclusively to locally made and/or produced goods. Great strides and gains were made in this space, however market conditions just weren’t favourable for this type of business. He subsequently rejoined MTN early in 2018, this time in Group and was responsible for Business Development in the enterprise space across 14 Opcos. It was in this space that Ntai sharpened his understanding of the African continent and how business is done, also a role that improved his negotiation skills on large Telco deals until being head hunted in 2022 by Global Networking giant, Cisco.

 

Ntai currently runs the Service Provider business at Cisco for Sub Saharan Africa
