Mzamo Masito

Dr. Mzamo Masito is a seasoned business and brand executive with over 27 years of experience in technology, telecommunications, sport, consultancy and consumer goods.

He earned his mantle at leading multinational companies and universities as a practitioner and academic. Dr. Masito number one character strength is Love of Learning, mastering new skills, topics and bodies of knowledge whether one’s own or formally.


He loves to add systematically to what he knows. He also derives immense joy from sharing freely and openly all his knowledge with work colleagues and students. His mission (purpose)  is to;

 Democratize Opportunity and increase Transcendence for every African.

Dr. Masito  earned his stripes at Unilever where he rose through the ranks to become the Vice President Brand Building and an Executive Board Member, responsible and accountable  for doubling the size of the business  (full P&L) and brand  (visibility, availability, campaigns) while increasing social impact and reducing environmental impact.  He also lived and held senior roles at Unilever India (Global South Insights project for low income markets) and Unilever UK (Market Science Unit and Behavioural Science).



Works

His talent and confidence earned him the position as Chief Brand Officer Nike Africa, where he was responsible for developing and implementing the company’s successful brand positioning for the 2010 World Cup which won several national and international brand and design awards. He was a Marketing Executive at Vodacom Africa Group and also held a senior role in Vodafone based in London-Paddington, as Global Head of Brand Engagement responsible for digital marketing transformation and novel sponsorship deals.
